ReplyDeleteMy main connection and understanding that has been made in my mind today is just how important it is to have the student input and student voice integrated into my lessons. If students are not engaged and not learning about contexts that are not important to them why would they want to learn, why would they be engaged? "What is important to us?".
I would like to know some more ideas from some of the other teachers about how to get the student voice (Learner centered) integrated into my teaching practice. One person mentioned today allowing the students to have some input into selecting guided reading texts which I thought was a great idea!
One of my challenges as a person still new to the PYP is remembering all the elements of the programme and how these all fit together. Today we developed a graphic to support ongoing access to and recall of the 5 elements. We intend to continue to develop the graphic as a tool. Thanks Alison for the prompt.
