The research behind the programme:

Each person on your table choose a different reading from the list below.
Divide off with participants that have chosen the same reading, find a quiet space to read through and identify the main ideas.
Bring those ideas and summaries back to your table.

International-mindedness is encompassed in the IB Learner Profile. It is further developed by practices under PYP standards.

In the PYP, the school's curriculum includes all those student activities, academic and non-academic, for which the school takes responsibility since they all have an impact on student learning.

The five essential elements resonate throughout the entire curriculum.

Teaching and learning takes place when a range and balance of teaching strategies are selected appropriately to meet particular learning needs.

Responsibility for learning is shared within a learning community through collaborative and reflective planning.

At the heart of the curriculum cycle is the learner constructing meaning

    1. Enjoyed the reading, it didn't unpack the elements as I had predicted but I took lots learning from it and reinforced my own ideas about relationships between teacher and student.

    2. I really liked the human graphing activity, it was hard not to talk!
Researching the article with another was the ideal for me as we were able to discuss what we thought and how we had seen it used.

    3. This was a really useful session, reading material that helped to clarify my understanding of the PYP. A combination of the reading and discussion with my group, supported with the shared resource we developed made a real difference for my learning. I fully expect to read many of the other reading materials linked off this page. Thanks for sharing these.

    4. Enjoyed reading the 'Making learning visible' article. Think-Puzzle-Explore is a very practical approach for students to inquire into concepts.
