An inquiry into inquiry models
Mapping your inquiry
"Using environments as the third teacher empowers learners to create and think in innovative ways."
Discuss the context of the 'provocation' tour, and create groups of learners.
Start to map box 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the planner using the Central Idea from session 6.
Your group will share back their planning and ideas to the rest of the group during session 8.
An inquiry into inquiry models
- Making the PYP Happen slides (workshop info)
Think about:
- Have you seen any other models?
- Be discerning about what you find
- How might they be used?
- Are there any subject differences?
- Are there any age group differences?

I really enjoyed working with my colleagues to devise a plan as I hadn't done this before to this extent and it has cemented for me the how and why.
ReplyDeleteI appreciated being offered specific ways that I can structure an inquiry. Being able to inquire personally into the use of digital technology in my class has been a great help.
ReplyDeleteThis discussion had me reflecting on the model we have adopted at our school. Assessing our model against others helped to identify some of the weaknesses or potential limitations of our model. This will provide a prompt to review our model with the team and maybe enhance it in line with some of these observations. I also bought a copy of Kath Murdochs book online for our school, so looking forward to using that tool with our team.
